Bedroom Linens

I love linens, don't you?  You can never have enough!  There is something about a stack of old linens that gets my heart pumping.  From old quilts to vintage french towels, I love them all!  If you will let me, I would like to show you some ways I use vintage linens in our bedroom.

I love this huge grain sack bolster!  I sewed on the wooden buttons last month.

I love switching out the linens on our bed to change things a bit.  Now I cover it with an old linen French sheet with a red monogram.

A grain sack upholstered bench sits at the foot of our sleigh bed holding a stack of favorites.

This bench in the corner is made from an old wooden door.

I picked up this vintage vanity stool at a garage sale for fifty cents.  I pulled off the torn cushion and folded a small grain sack on top.

I sewed a strip of lace to burlap to make a curtain, covering my under-the-stairway cubby.   Old houses tend to have these, but it makes the perfect space for all our shoes and boots!

I covered my old aqua and cream dresser with a vintage crochet dresser linen.

I love all linens, but as you see, grain sacks are my favorite!

Thanks for your visit!  I hope you have a wonderful week!

French Labels and Post Road Vintage

I hope all of you are having a wonderful week!  So far so good for me.  The weather has been cooperating and we even had the sunshine peek out from behind the clouds yesterday morning!  But I can't go any further with this post until I thank each and every one of you.  You guys are the best!  I can't get over the fact that you all take time out of your busy lives to pay me a visit and leave such encouraging comments.

I hung this old canning jar on a row of vintage chippy white hooks that Karl added to a bare wall in our bath.  I found a vintage style french label that I printed off at Karen's wonderful blog, The Graphics Fairy, and used Mod Podge to seal it to the jar.  You can find tons of great labels of any subject and for any creative project at The Graphics Fairy.  It is a lot of fun to go through them and see all the different choices.

This flower frog hanging vase top came from Heather at Post Road Vintage.  I bought a couple of these tops from Heather and love them.  You can use them for any season.  Here I added some winter berries.  Heather sells them at her online store.  Don't have any mason jars at home, don't worry, she sells those as well!

As I mentioned, I got this wonderful attached hanging flower frog top from Heather at Post Road Vintage.  If you haven't been over to her blog, you have to promise me that you will go soon!  Heather is a fellow Michigan blogger and her home and garden are most adorable.  I am excited to share a couple pictures from her beautiful blog with you as a small taste of what you will find over there.  Heather also has an online store that you can pick up your own mason jar soap dispenser or hanging mason jar flower vase.  To visit the Post Road Vintage Store *Click Here*

Heather sells handmade wooden shelves as well.

I also added another vintage French label with Mod Podge to an old glass jam jar.  This label is from The Graphics Fairy as well.  This one sits on our bathroom counter.

Yes, that is exactly what you you think it is in the background, a mason jar soap dispenser from Heather!  I love it here in my bath.

Thank-you again to all of you for stopping by.  And a big thank-you to Heather at Post Road Vintage and Karen at The Graphic Fairy for their inspiration.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

And the Liebster Award Goes To...

Good Morning to you!  A HUGE thank-you goes to my friend, Cheryl over at Fresh Vanilla for C!  Cheryl and I both started a blog around the same time last year.  Even though we live across the country from each other, she was one of my first followers and through this we have become wonderful friends.

She awarded this here blog with the Liebster Award.

Liebster is German and means 'dearest' or 'beloved' but it can also mean 'favorite'. The idea of the Liebster award is to bring attention to blogs with less than 200 followers. So, in the spirit of good fun I am passing this award on to 6 other bloggers.
Please click over and visit them. Then decide if they may be one of your new favorite blogs!

The RULES are:
  1. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
  2. Reveal your five or six picks for the award and let them know.
  3. Post the award on your blog.
  4. Bask in the love from the most supportive people on the blogshare-other bloggers.
  5. Finally and the best rule of all.......have fun and spread the love!

It's now my turn to pass the award along. And the Liebster goes to.....in No Particular Order!!!
