My Sister Made It

Hello again!  How have you been?  Didn't the holiday season just fly by?  I am still recovering from it!  Have you removed all of your decor or does it tend to linger a bit afterward?  My take-down occurs in stages.  The first stage is removing all the directly Christmas-related items such as ornaments and trees.  I like to keep the garlands, faux greenery and pinecones around a bit longer to add a little winter interest throughout our home (we tend to have really long winters here!)  These will slowly get removed one by one as I make room for spring decor!

I mentioned before that my sister lives in Tennessee, so I don't get to see her very often.  Last time I went to visit her in September she surprised me with the promise of a homemade apron for my birthday.  We went to Hobby Lobby together and she let me pick out the fabric material.  When she came home for Christmas, she gave me the finished apron!  I love it!  Didn't it turn out wonderful!?  It matches my red kitchen perfectly!  Thank you, Alexandra!

On another note, I wanted to share something with you before I go!  I previously mentioned that I desired to open an online store and that hasn't changed.  I have been thinking a lot about it lately.  As I am continually rearranging things here, I would rather see them passed along to you for use rather than store them.  I am thrilled with the wonderful success and turn out at my annual barn sales, but some of you live too far away to attend them, so I decided to push forward with starting an online option for some of the smaller items that can be shipped easily.  I am going to test the waters by listing photos of these items periodically right here on my blog and see where it takes us.  What do you think?  Would you be interested in seeing something like this become reality in the coming year?  I would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks so much for coming back again and again!  I appreciate your comments and visits very much!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

Maria ~Rusty Hinge

  4. Hi Maria~~ PLEASE open an on-line shop!! You have so many wonderful things to share with all of us, even those of us who are far away!!! Your house looks so pretty. We have taken down all the Christmas items and then I did a bunch of rearranging. That always feels nice and fresh! Although it feels VERY much like winter here. 30's at night and 50's during the day. That is way..... cold for So. Cal:))
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  9. I would definitely like to see things on your posts that might be for sale.

If I had your kitchen, I might actually want to cook or at least bake.

And that cute apron would be a reason to bake also.

  20. The apron is wonderful that your sister made. May I ask what part of Tennessee that she is from? I live in middle Tennessee right between Chattanooga and Nashville.

An online store of yours, I am sure would be wonderful. You have many beautiful things in your home.

great idea to sell things on your blog...I do that too, but only occasionally.
People often ask me about pictures on FB too.

There are also at least 2 blog parties where you can post pics of tings and sell.

    lots of free options.
