It's All In the Details

Hello!  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!  Can you believe how fast it is flying by?  I really need it to slow down!  July has come and gone and we have fall to look forward to.  Fall in northern Michigan is absolutely gorgeous!  And soon enough I will share pictures of all the fall colors.  But today, I want to show you the beauty of detail.

These monogram mugs are from Anthropologie.  I love the simple black on white look of these mugs.  This antique French market basket came without one handle so I braided some thick rope together and created my own!

Seasonal decorating is so much fun.  In the summer, I like to have lots of flowers and garden decor throughout.  These little vintage seed pots hold antique french seedling packet labels.

These "flowering" branches where part of my spring decor.  I made them be glueing silk flowers to twigs picked in my back yard.

I love antique labels.  This amazing french glass jar came from my favorite Dreamy Whites!

I love the way the light hits these vintage medicine bottles.

Red has to be my favorite color, I think!  My kitchen is red so all these fabulous vintage tea towels match so well.  I love old, vintage linens and am building up quite a collection.

Look at the intricate detail carved into this antique chair reupholstered with a German grain sack.  Isn't it beautiful?

This carved, wooden bowl was made by my neighbor and friend, Steve.  He is so talented with all the amazing wooden creations he makes from fallen trees.  It is neat to go and watch him work in his workshop.

Steve also made this amazing table in my sister's apartment.  Isn't he talented?

I love the chippy patina of antique tole sconces.  Each one is different and tells it's own story.

See how much the little details can make up a home?  It's so much fun to decorate and move stuff around.  It's like a different house every time!

Thank-you everyone again for continuing to come back!  I am having a lot of fun sharing my hobbies with you too!  And I have a little surprise to share with you...This fall, I am thinking of having an antique sale out of my barn!  I will be posting some pictures of treasures for sale soon.  So stay tuned for details!

Have a wonderful week!

  4. Hi Maria,
Found you via Pinterest! I was wondering if you could tell me about the 3 rings on the crystal hanging light (2 pics up). What are the rings from, and do you know where I could find some?
    Thanks so much!
