Let it Snow

Hello again, sorry I have been absent for a bit.  For Christmas this year, Karl's parents had given a cruise to the whole family, so all seventeen of us have been on a boat out in the Caribbean all week!  It was wonderful!  Thank-you, Mom and Dad!  We had a blast!

A gorgeous sunrise over the Caribbean.  We had wonderful weather and made many great memories.  We arrived back home again on Saturday.  This is what we came home to, lots and lots of snow!

What a huge contrast to what we had been experiencing on our vacation.  Just a couple days ago we were enjoying the hot sunshine!

I hung a cedar wreath in every window each with a red bow to add some color.

It is a tradition for my mom and I to make garland together every year.  We go out to the woods to collect many different kinds of greenery and winter berries.  This year I made over fifty feet and it was so heavy, I could barely carry it to my front porch!

Karl found this old wheelbarrow for me this summer, and for winter decor I stuffed it with pine and winter berries.  This fall, I decorated it by filling it with pumpkins and gourds.  To view *Click here*

It hasn't stopped snowing since we arrived back home.  Even though it will take me a couple days to get used to the cold weather again, it's really quite beautiful, isn't it?

It's good to be back, I have missed all of you,

Maria ~Rusty Hinge

  8. The blue water and ship look wonderful but I would so love to come home to winter in the country. Your photos are beautiful...but so is your yard and home! I love that you put so much effort into the little touches all around outside. It is as charming as can be.

I've desperately wanted a wagon for my yard for so long now...my husband thinks I'm crazy but I'm going to show him these pictures. I just don't think he understand what I'm talking about. :)

    Welcome back!
