I am sorry that I am beginning all my posts with a weather update. You would think I was a Weather Girl or something. It's just that we have had such abnormal spring weather here as of late, but today it looks as if we are back to normal. I awoke this morning to 29 degrees. Isn't that a huge contrast to the summer temperatures we were getting last week? Back to wearing coats and pants again (although on the upside, I can still keep my snow boots stored!)
This past weekend was Karl's birthday. But I am the one who got spoiled, look what he did for me! He put up this gorgeous antique chandelier in our bedroom. I have several vintage chandeliers, each one different. They are slowly getting integrated throughout the rooms (as Karl dares to dabble with the wires in our old home!) Last summer, he put up a bright colorful one with porcelain flowers in our kitchen. I can't wait to show it to you another time.
I must send a huge thank-you to Jami of Freckled Laundry and Bonnie of Pink Stitches for featuring my finally finished grainsack coverlet! Thank-you, ladies!
Also, I can't leave without sharing that I just now received my copy of Souvenir in the mail. I love it and I must instruct you right away to get a copy for yourselves! You will not be disappointed in the least! It is wonderfully written and the photos are indescribable, taken by extremely talented top-notch photographers. I can't wait to go through it again!
Well, I should run since I have a magazine to read (and a house to clean!)
I hope you have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteVery lovely Maria - and your room looks totally gorgeous as well. I have gilded and antiqued the same ceiling medallion you have for a few clients. It's my favorite one!

This is gorgeous! I featured it this week at Creative Things Thursday!
ReplyDeleteThat fixture was already beautiful but the ceiling medallion put it over the top. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous chandelier. The whole room is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love that tole chandy!~I truly do!! I found one at an auction and it is tole and all gilded but someone painted the lovely porcelain pastel roses an awful shade of red with bad flat paint....I hate that someone did that~I will turn it back to pastels. Your green and white chandy is stuning!
ReplyDeleteThe chandelier is just gorgeous. And that mirror! I'm so jealous right now. Antiques like that are hard to come by in Alaska.
