2015 Holiday Housewalk ~ Rustic Meets Refined

I am simply delighted to be back again with so many lovely Christmas homes featured in Jennifer Rizzo's Holiday Housewalk 2015!  You just found your way to Rusty Hinge, Stop #14 of Day 3 in the tour.  We welcome Good Housekeeping Magazine and Joss & Main this year as well!

Oh boy, oh boy, if you are coming from Craftberry Bush, we can only exclaim WOW!  Let's all just take a moment to pick our jaws back up off the floor!  I am a huge fan of Lucy's style and her home is sure to become a favorite of yours as well!  To take another peek, please *Click Here* or on her
Joss & Main button below.

Want to head back to Day 1 and start the tour from the beginning?  Simply *Click Here* or on
the Joss & Main Holiday Housewalk button below!

Now that you are all caught up, without any further introduction, please do come in and enjoy our little Christmas tour!

Come snuggle up by the fire with this cozy throw from Joss & Main!  I just love the unique detailing on it.  It is perfect for cold Michigan winter nights!

Look at what I found, a red, vintage tractor seat!  I thought it would go well with the Christmas decor!

Grandpa Case's workshop cabinet finds a new home in the dining room filled with a few of my favorite things.  We miss you very much, Grandpa, but for those whose hope is in the Lord, good-byes are not forever!  We shall see you again!

Even the master bath gets a Christmas makeover!  An old apple picking backpack corrals towels while a vintage hardware lumber apron filled with candy canes adds a festive touch!

Have I mentioned that red is my favorite color?  Pair a little (or a lot!) of red with white, of course, and you get my blood pumping!  I found the perfect matching mixing bowls at Joss & Main to complete the look.

THANK YOU for coming along with us thus far on the tour!  It has been wonderful having you along!  The tour doesn't end here, next stop is Town and Country Living to Jennifer's gorgeous Victorian cottage!  She is a real treat, hurry don't linger and get over there to say hello!  Please *Click Here* or on the Joss & Main button below to head over!

Merry Christmas, friends!

Fall Tour Recap

Happy Thanksgiving, my friends!  I hope you had a great holiday and enjoyed every moment!  I want to take a minute and share a bit of stark truth.  Here is my week in a nutshell... still dealing with the shower-leaking-through-subfloor-into-kitchen drama, jeep not starting and sitting dead in the drive, and now the cherry on top, my external hard drive just crashed and I lost all my blog photo archives.  Contemplating these past events today, I found myself standing at a crossroad...hang my head and feel sorry for myself or give thanks to the Lord for all the many, many, many blessings bestowed upon me.  Life is good, God is good!  We have so much to be thankful for, don't we?

Thank you for joining me on my little fall tour this week on Facebook and Instagram!  Here is a little recap, just in case you missed it!

Some of you may be wondering what my centerpiece is!  Any guesses?  It is an apple grinder for cider making and can be used in grape crushing as well.  See the side crank still intact?  It is still very usable.  Just give that handle a turn and you have yourself some apple sauce!

Thank you again for hanging out with me this week!  Today does conclude our little fall tour, but not to worry, Christmas comes next with the annual Holiday Housewalk and decking these halls begins tomorrow!

Take care,

For the Love of Pumpkins

Welcome, welcome, I am so glad you are here!  If you are shocked to see pumpkins, don't be alarmed,  I am the kind of gal that likes to stretch each season out for as long as possible, in fact, I admit some years there just might have been Christmas lights up in January!  And who doesn't love pumpkins even now this late into November?  Thanksgiving week is upon us and we are going to have some fun together this week!  For the promised fall home tour, let's do something a little different.  Each day, between now and Thanksgiving day, I will be posting fall home tour photos on the Instagram and Facebook pages.  I would love it if you come back each day for a tiny dose of fall, Rusty Hinge style!

After our petite fall tour this week, it's on to Christmas decorating with the annual virtual Holiday Housewalk!  Yay!  I can not wait and hope you will join us for the housewalk starting next Monday, November 30!  I have been working extra hard scheming and planning how to deck the halls this year and hope not to disappoint!  Please mark your calendars and come along!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank You, Midwest Living Magazine

How have you all been?  I hope all is well in your neck of the woods!  I am way overdue on touching base and filling you in with some small happenings over here in our life.  But first, I have to send a huge thank you out to Midwest Living magazine for the feature in the November/December holiday issue on newsstands now!  You will find our farmhouse Christmas vignettes featured alongside the extremely talented blogger and friend, Jennifer Rizzo.  It is such an honor, thank you for making my day, Midwest Living!

On another note, I know I promised you a fall tour, and don't worry, I will squeeze one in yet before Thanksgiving!  We have a few tiny home repair mishaps to wade through first.  One being our tiled shower in the upstairs bath in need of some serious attention.  The entire tile shower flooring is leaking water through the sub-floor into our kitchen below.  At this point, we are most liking going to have to tear out the whole tiled shower as well as deal with the new hole in our kitchen ceiling.
Ahh, the joys of home ownership, right?
But all this merely a hiccup!  Life is good!

So here is the plan, share a little fall decor with you sometime before Thanksgiving, all the while repairing and painting our home, then it's on to the annual Christmas Housewalk beginning November 30!  If you have never joined us before on this fabulous, virtual Christmas blog tour, hosted by Jennifer Rizzo, please come back here for more details and updates regarding the Holiday Housewalk posted throughout November.
